Recommended Photo Shoot Locations

These Are The Locations Near Allen That Paula Recommends

Wondering where to take your pictures?  That’s one of the most common questions I get from clients.  Having captured hundreds of thousands of images over more than a decade, I’ve definitely have some “favorite locations” in the greater Allen area.  But don’t worry.  Your location ideas are always welcome.

Allen Old Stone Dam

Allen’s 1874 stone dam and railroad water station is located north of Exchange in Allen Station Park.  There’s something cool about taking pictures on and around train tracks.  Maybe it’s because you never know when a train might be coming.  The tracks in Allen are both dormant and historic, as the first train robbery in Texas took place in Allen in 1878.  How about making some of your own history there?

Dayspring Nature Preserve

Taking pictures outdoors provides the best possible light.  Add in some trees and interesting landscape, and you can really bring a photo shoot to life.  Dayspring Nature Preserve in Allen is one of my favorite places to shoot, especially when the light is filtered through the many trees.

Downtown McKinney

Love the idea of shooting outside, but looking for something more urban?  Downtown McKinney has dozens of cool places to shoot.  There are often photo bombers lurking, but it’s always worth the wait to get the perfect shot.

Adriatica Village In McKinney

Want something with a taste of Europe and a splash of water?  Try Adriatica Village in McKinney.  With lots of shops, cobblestone, steps, water and interesting architecture, Adriatica is a great place to get that unique shot.

Parker Rose Garden

Like the idea of some structure?  Consider the Parker Rose Garden in Allen, Texas.  This beautiful site features a great old barn.  Lot’s of choices for cute shots here including fields, gravel paths, and a great little pond.

Other Places To Shoot Around Allen

There are more places to shoot pictures in and around Allen than there are clients.  I’ve had great luck in locations like Arbor Hills, The Dallas Arboretum, White Rock Lake, Allen Eagle Stadium, Frisco Commons Park, Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve, Celebration Park, and Allen Station Park (just to name a few).

Of Course, Your Ideas Are Welcome

Got a great idea for a place to shoot your perfect pictures?  Let’s hear it.  I love shooting in new places.  As long as it’s not too far away, I’m probably game to give your idea a try.

Working with Paula to have family photos taken was such a breath of fresh air!  First off, she has such a keen eye.  From the perfect lighting to the backgrounds, she knew the exact locations that were perfect for our photo shoot. I love that Paula was so detail-oriented, making sure everything looked just right, and I truly appreciated her being so patient with us.  Our photo shoot was relaxed and fun–all thanks to her!

When we received our photos, I was beyond pleased!  She captured our family perfectly!  The pictures are high-quality, and I can’t begin to tell you how many compliments we received on our family photo for our Christmas card.  Paula was so easy to work with throughout the entire process.  Having family photos taken can be stressful, but she was professional, made us comfortable and produced an amazing set of photos for us that we will treasure forever!

What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.
