I was excited when Hallie told me she wanted to meet for her photoshoot at Adriatica Village in McKinney. I had been out there for dinner a few times and thought the place was just beautiful, but up until now, I had never done a photoshoot there.

I had, however, taken many selfies with my husband after dinner, and loved the lighting and the area itself. Turns out, I’m not the only person who thinks it’s a beautiful location for photoshoots.

Lots of people want to have their picture taken at Adriatica. If you’ve ever been there, you know why. It’s like a little hidden pocket out in McKinney that makes you feel like your are somewhere else.

There are little cobblestone streets that give the area the feel of a small European village, a really pretty Bell Tower, and a quaint little chapel surrounded by a beautiful lake with wonderful stone bridges and walls, some of which are crumbling.

There are quite a few yummy restaurants and some stores, but I always find myself drawn to the stone bridges and walls, the stone staircases, the big fountain, and all the beautiful cobblestone streets.

Hallie and I met there about 5:30 on a weeknight, just as the sun was beginning to drop behind some of the buildings, creating just the perfect lighting for photos. Our only obstacle was working around all the people that were also there wanting to explore and take pictures!

If you haven’t ever been out there, I highly recommend it. It’s a fun area to grab a bite to eat and then walk around and check out the scenery. Don’t forget to bring your camera along for a few pictures while you’re out there. Let me know where you decide to eat and how your pictures turn out.

Until next time…
