Your Senior Year Is Waiting—Let’s Capture It Together

If you’re planning senior pictures in Texas, just take a deep breath… I’ve got you. This past week, I had the absolute joy of starting my sessions with the Class of 2027 seniors to kick off the beginning of my busy season. It will officially begin towards the end of August.

Are you ready, Class of 2027? Nothing sets the tone for senior year quite like that mix of excitement, anticipation, and—oh yes—a little bit of nervous energy. Don’t worry, you’re in good company!

There are so many exciting moments to look forward to this year. One of which is your senior pictures!

Have you thought about what you want your gallery of senior pictures to look like? What do you want your background to be? A field of flowers? A city vibe? Maybe the graffiti tracks? So many different choices. If you’re having trouble deciding, you might want to come follow me on Instagram (@paulamasonphoto). Sometimes seeing what others are doing will inspire you or at least give you some ideas of the places you like (and the places you don’t like).

What Makes Senior Pictures Feel Uniquely “You”

I always tell every senior (and, yes, every senior parent): the magic happens when you can just be yourself. No pressure. And this happens when you’re in a space or a location that you’re excited about and of course wearing an outfit that you feel comfortable in.

So let’s get something scheduled, and we can chat about what you’re excited or nervous about before your session to make sure you’re ready. And try not to worry. We will take quick breaks between shots when needed and just let the session unfold. Sometimes, these in between moments when we are just relaxing and talking (and I snap a quick picture just for fun) make the best photos.

Here are a few things that can help make your session feel like you—no forced poses necessary:

  • Wear something comfortable and true to your style (you don’t have to dress up if that’s not you).
  • Pick a location that feels good—rustic stone, lush greens, city vibes, or something totally unique.
  • Embrace the moment! A little laughter and a little daydreaming both look great on camera.
  • If you’re feeling a bit camera-shy, don’t worry—I’ll give you plenty of gentle direction.

Let’s Plan a Session That’s All About Possibility

One of the best parts of senior pictures? Celebrating all those fun Highschool moments as well as all of your future possibilities, right here and now.

I love sessions where you can see not just where a student is today, but all the adventures that are waiting just up the road. When we plan a session, we’re making something that will matter years from now.
