Family Photos in Frisco, Texas
Capture Today For Tomorrow
Why Take Family Photos in Frisco?
One of the amazing things about families is that they are never the same; they’re always growing and changing. Frisco is one of the fastest-growing cities in America, and the families here know that feeling firsthand: new schools, new neighborhoods, kids shooting up an inch every time you blink. A professional family portrait is a great way to stop time and celebrate today while creating an heirloom you will hand down through generations.
I photograph families all across the north DFW suburbs, and Frisco sessions are always a treat. Whether you’ve been here since before the Dallas Cowboys arrived or you just unpacked your last moving box, your family’s story deserves better than a phone selfie. Photos also make great gifts for grandparents.
Favorite Family Photo Locations in Frisco
For relaxed, natural family sessions, Frisco Commons Park is hard to beat, with walking trails, a pond, and big shade trees that give us soft, flattering light in the evening. Harold Bacchus Community Park offers wide open green space that’s perfect for big multi-generation groups and kids who need room to run. If your family’s style is more urban, Frisco Square gives us brick streets and clean architecture, and during December the holiday lights make an unforgettable Christmas-card backdrop.
Many Frisco families also love a session in their own neighborhood park or even their backyard. Familiar surroundings help young kids relax, and relaxed kids make the best photos. Wondering how to dress everyone? Coordinate two or three colors rather than matching exactly, skip the big logos, and choose comfort first. I share more ideas in my guide to choosing a family photographer.
What’s Included?
So, how will this work? Family photos can seem stressful, so I try to make them easy (and fun). Simply put, I will meet you at a time and Frisco location we agree on and start taking pictures. Wrangling toddlers, coaxing teenagers, keeping grandpa laughing: that’s all part of the job, and honestly, it’s my favorite part.
Afterwards, I’ll edit the pictures and deliver the best shots to you digitally. Once delivered, the digital picture files are yours to use as you please. Professionally prepared prints and print products can be ordered directly from our website.
Please note that heavy digital retouching like teeth whitening, blemish removal, and other special effects are not included in the basic session price. Check the Session Pricing Page for details about current pricing and what is included in my Standard and Deluxe session packages.
I also photograph families in Allen, McKinney, and Plano. If you’d like to see a real Frisco-area session, check out my recent family portrait blog posts.

What a wonderful holiday it was here at Paula Mason Photography. With all the crazy COVID stuff going on, I wasn't sure how many families I would be able to photograph for the 2020 season. I was so happy when my busy season was actually busy! I'm so fortunate that so...
The Magic of the Peanut Feeder
I discovered the magic of the peanut feeder a few years ago when my friend told me I needed one to go with all of my bird houses and feeders. I had never heard of them but was certainly curious. I ordered one right away. That was the beginning of getting nothing done...
Santa Was Good To Me This Year…
I had a great time last week at Bethany Lakes Park testing out my new lens that I got for Christmas. Santa was very good to me this year. This new Canon 600mm lens allows me to stay quite a distance away from birds, ducks, and other animals, while still getting a...
Common Questions
What time of day is best for family photos in Frisco?
The hour before sunset, hands down. The low golden light at Frisco Commons or Harold Bacchus Park is soft and flattering for every skin tone, and it keeps everyone from squinting. Morning sessions work great for toddlers who nap in the afternoon.
What should my family wear?
Coordinate a palette of two or three colors instead of matching outfits exactly. Skip big logos and busy patterns, layer where you can, and wear shoes you can actually walk in. When in doubt, send me photos of your options and I’ll help you choose.
What happens if it rains on our session day?
Texas weather keeps us flexible. Light overcast is actually wonderful for photos, it acts like a giant softbox. If the weather is genuinely bad, we simply find another date that works. No drama, no penalty, just a quick reschedule.
