As much as I love taking family photos, senior year photos, and sports pictures, the opportunity I had to take photos for a couple who was so excited about announcing their first pregnancy is probably the most fun I’ve had in a long time. This was my first session of this kind, and I loved every minute of it.

The mom and dad to be knew exactly what they wanted, so my job was to get the lighting set up right and take the photos. It was a pretty gloomy day outside, so getting the right light with nothing coming in through the windows was pretty tricky. I don’t do much flash photography, but this session called for it.

I was determined to get some great, fun shots, so after a bit of trial and error, I think we finally got it right! Such exciting news to share, so I wanted the pictures to be perfect. Being a predominantly outdoor photographer, I was sweating this one a little bit. But the end result made me (and the parents to be) very happy!

What a joyful occasion. I was so very happy to be a part of this special time in their lives. Baby Thomas is one lucky baby. I am so excited for all the fun things this sweet couple has in store. Next up…a gender reveal photoshoot coming soon to my blog! That will be even more fun.

So now I guess it is time for me to start reading up on setting up and taking newborn photos. Something I’ve never advertised on my site, because I’ve never done newborn photos before. Maybe after this experience, I’ll decide to add that to my list of photo sessions. Is there anyone who can resist spending time with a sweet little newborn baby? Not me!

I am certainly up for (and very excited about) this next challenge! Hopefully, if it all goes well, this sweet couple will ask me to document all the fun things they have in store for them with a baby on the way. So much to look forward to, and there will be so many special moments to document with a photo session.

I feel so fortunate that this cute couple trusted me to get some great shots for their big news. I guess we’ll find out if I’m cut out for newborn photography eventually when Baby Thomas makes an entrance!

If I can help you with some special photos, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can find me over at Paula Mason Photography.

Until next time…
