Why Take Senior Photos?
It all happens so fast. One minute you are painting the nursery and the next you are ordering a cap and gown. When you are a senior in high school, it seems like anything is possible. Seniors are at the start of something amazing, and a professional photo session is the perfect way to freeze this special moment in time. And of course, senior photos make great holiday gifts.
What's Included?
So, how will this work? It may sound stressful, but my goal is actually to make it easy (and fun). Simply put, I will meet you at a time and location we agree on and start taking pictures.
Of course, you’ll want to plan for a special outfit or two and bring some props that are important to your senior. We’ll take a ton of pictures in various poses. The duration of your shoot will depend on the photo session that you select.
I’ll edit the pictures and deliver the best shots to you digitally. Once delivered, the digital picture files are yours to use as you please. Professionally prepared prints and print products can be ordered directly from our website. Please note that heavy digital retouching like teeth whitening, blemish removal, and other special effects are not included in the basic session price. How Much Do Senior Pictures Cost in Allen, TX?
Paula Mason Photography offers several session options for senior portraits. Mini sessions start at $400 and are a great choice for seniors who want updated photos without a long session. Standard sessions start at $650 and include approximately 60 minutes of shooting time with outfit changes at one location. Deluxe sessions at $850 give you extended time and the option for a second location. The Platinum experience at $1,500 is the full package for seniors who want a premium, unhurried session. Where Do You Take Senior Photos Near Allen, Texas?
Paula photographs seniors at outdoor locations throughout Allen, Frisco, McKinney, and Plano. Some of her favorite spots include Bethany Lakes Park in Allen for its wooded trails and creek, Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve for wide open fields and golden light, downtown McKinney for an urban and historic feel, and Adriatica Village in McKinney for a unique European-style backdrop. Oak Point Park in Plano and Arbor Hills Nature Preserve are also popular choices. Paula will recommend a location based on your senior’s style and the look you are going for, or she is happy to shoot at a spot your senior chooses.
When Should I Book My Senior Portrait Session?
Most families book senior sessions between the summer before senior year and early fall. The peak months are August through October, and these fill up quickly. Spring sessions are a great option too, especially during Texas bluebonnet season in March and April. Paula recommends booking at least four to six weeks in advance during busy season. If your senior is a junior starting to plan ahead, summer before senior year is the sweet spot – you will have images ready for yearbook submissions, graduation announcements, and social media before school starts. Do not worry if you are a late planner. Paula often has availability through winter and spring for the Class of 2027 and beyond.
What Should My Senior Wear?
Bring two to three outfits that reflect your senior’s personality. A mix of casual and dressy works well. Layers like jackets, flannels, or cardigans add visual interest and give you more variety in your final gallery. Avoid large logos, neon colors, and busy patterns that compete with your senior’s face. Solid colors and earth tones look great in natural light. If your senior plays a sport, bring the jersey and equipment for a few action-inspired shots. Paula sends a detailed style guide before every session with specific recommendations based on your chosen location and time of year.
