At this time of year, most of the sessions I schedule are for senior pictures for all the Highschool graduates. And the most asked question at this time of year is “What is a senior session like? What should we bring with us?”
The answer to that question is simple… Your session for senior pictures can look like whatever you want it to look like. Do you want to take pictures in your favorite coffee shop? Or how about in front of your Highschool? Or maybe in a creek or a field of flowers?
All of these are great ideas! And you can do any and/or all of them. I offer 3 photo packages, and they can all be specialized for just what you need or want from your time with me. I have a Deluxe Session, a Standard Session, and a Mini Session. My packages are based on the amount of time we shoot and the number of pictures in your final gallery. Once you decide about those things, the rest we work out together.
So let’s take some pictures! Bring your car, your cello, your favorite t-shirt, your football, baseball, or anything else you want to feature in your photos. We can tailor your session to whatever you want/need for your gallery of pictures.
But the most important thing to know about a session for senior pictures is that it will be lots of fun! My sessions are very low-stress and I think that most of the time, they are pretty fun. I guess you’d have to check with the seniors I’ve done sessions with to get a true answer, but I know that I always have fun with these sessions.
If you are a 2023 graduate, you should schedule NOW, because time is running out. If you’re a 2024 graduate, now is the time to start shopping around for a photographer and thinking about when you want to schedule your session. Many seniors like to take pictures in the fall during their senior year. By doing this, you will have any pictures you might need for senior activities and events.
Spring time is also popular, especially if you want the backdrop of your pictures to be flowers and pretty fields (or even Bluebonnets). This timing works great if you only need pictures for a graduation announcement or a picture in your cap and gown. But keep in mind, that this time of year books quickly!
I’ve also done some sessions during the summer prior to your senior year. This works best for kids who have a crazy, busy schedule. If your child has a job or plays on a sports team, their final year can get quite busy. If this is your situation, summer might be a good option for you. But be advised…it’s hot! So all those awesome pictures in your Highschool letter jacket will look great, but be prepared to melt!
As always, if I can help you out with senior pictures, family photos, or any other pictures you might need, you can find me over at Paula Mason Photography. Just let me know how I can help!
Until next time…
