It’s time to start thinking about family photos, but where should you go to take them? If you live in or around the Allen area, you might consider Parker Rose Garden. I’m sure many of you have passed it when you’re out and about, but if you haven’t stopped by to see what it’s all about, maybe you should consider it for your next family photo session.

Family photos can be stressful, but one part about them is easy…finding an interesting, cool place to be the backdrop of your pictures. Scouting for new locations is so fun, and when I came across this place, I was very excited. I’ve been taking family photos here for years, and I keep thinking they might tear this old, rustic barn down someday. So far, it has remained standing, and I’m hoping it will for a long time.

The barn at Parker Rose Garden makes a unique backdrop for your family photos. Depending on the time of year, sometimes the field next to it has perfect tall grass for you and your family to stand or sit in with the barn in the background. Other times, it is a nice, freshly mowed field that is perfect for a cute picnic blanket.

There is also a small “pond” right behind the barn, and when it is filled with water, it is also a great backdrop for photos. But during the dry season, it is just a big hole. But don’t worry…there are so many other areas to take pictures. There is a gravel path, some open fields, a small creek, and sometimes there are some bales of hay that are fun to climb on.

And because it’s just down the road and pretty easy to get to, it’s the perfect place for family photos if you’re looking for something that doesn’t look like you’re in the middle of the city. If you’re ready to schedule your family photos, you can find me over at Paula Mason Photography. Just send me a message and we’ll get something set up.

Until next time….
