I had been looking forward to this photo session for a long time, and it was finally upon me! My niece and her husband are expecting their first child (any day now), and they asked me if I would take some maternity photos for them.
YES! Maternity photos is not something I typically do – I’ve spent most of my time taking senior pictures, family photos, headshots, and I’ve done lots of sports photography. But I could not pass up this opportunity.
So we met down at White Rock Lake in Dallas early one Sunday. I had never done a photo session down there, so I wasn’t really familiar with the “good” spots to shoot. And I had no idea what the sun would be doing.

We arrived at White Rock, and the wind was howling! It was towards the end of March, so I was hoping to have some nice, cool spring weather, but on this morning it was COLD! Brrrr…. So cold that we were all shivering in between pictures. We were all very happy when it was time to jump in the car to drive to a different spot – – it gave us an opportunity to warm up.
It ended up being a perfect session (except for the wind and cold), and we got some wonderful pictures. And as I type this blog post, I realize that Baby T will be arriving any day now! Due date is this week, in fact. Hopefully, in a month or so, I will be posting about taking some newborn photos!

Now I’m very excited about that session (and very nervous)! I have a feeling that once I do a newborn session, I might be hooked. Who doesn’t love holding a snuggly newborn??

If I can help you out with photos, you can find me over at Paula Mason Photography! Just sent me a message and we can schedule you a session.
Until next time…
