Friday, June 9 in Allen, Texas

What started out as a gloomy, rainy day, ended up in a game of Street Ball in the Cul-de-Sac!  What fun!  As I was watching my son and his buddies play ball, I was reminded of my childhood.  My childhood was WAY back in the 70’s, when we spent the good part of every single day out in our yards playing everything including Kickball, Whiffle Ball, Hide-n-Seek, and Cops & Robbers to name just a few…

I was sitting on my porch watching all the action hoping they would invite me to join them, but since I’m old and slow, I decided that it was best if I took on the roll of Street Ball Photographer – my new title!

I mean, does it get much better than this? Sitting in the middle of the street snapping photos of these boys playing ball!

So I headed down to the Cul-de-sac, found a nice little spot on the curb and watched the game unfold!  I had so much fun watching them play, while I practiced my back-button focusing on the boys as they ran the bases.  It was great fun, and like I said earlier, it reminded me of the wonderful summers I used to have as a kid in the 70’s!  So glad we live in a neighborhood where the kids can get outside and play Street Ball!

Enjoy your summer break, and let me know if you have a fun game that the kids on your street play!  Also…if you take photos, share your lens preference and settings with me.  Always looking for new settings for sports!  Until next time…
